My plumeria have been outside now for several months, and they took forever to leaf out.

Only 2 of the multiple stems on Samoan Fluff and one of the multiple stems on Celadine has leafed out. Today I found the affected stems with black tips. I've never had this happen before. 😞😞😞😞

What in the world is wrong with my plants? I've trimmed the affected stems to healthy tissue. Hopefully, the plants are okay.

Any help or suggestions are welcome.

You have black tip rot. You need to keep cutting until you have all healthy tissue and CLEAN your clippers between cuts or you will spread the rot.

This sometimes happens when the weather is cold and wet at the same time.

Thanks for the info Hetty. It had been really hot here for several weeks. I was vacation last week, and noted that the weather here had gotten rainy and cooler. The plants did not look like this before I left.

They've been trimmed, and I sprayed the cut tips with some Immunox 3:1 Disease Control. Hopefully they'll be okay. Only these 2 plants were affected. The rests of my plants and potted cuttings seem fine.

What causes the black tip rot? Is it fungal or bacterial?
