How do I get photos to not rotate 90 degress when I upload? I never use to have an issue with this. I really like having phots to identify plants online. I try to post when I have a daylily that there is no photo online. Lisa

It's your phone or camera that is automatically rotating the images and I'm programmed the ATP system to try to compensate for it but it doesn't work 100%, as you have seen.

What are you using to take photos? And are you altering them in any way before uploading them to the site?

I am using my cell phone and then putting them in ms viewer or paint to make sure they are the correct size and direction. Sometimes they upload Ok and other times they do not. Let me know if anyone has a solution to this - I am trying to do an hierloom daylily garden and will have plenty of pics in the furture that probably are not documented on the web. Lisa

Once the image goes through paint or similar photo app and is saved with the right orientation, then there shouldn't be a problem with the images.

I may have to make a way for one to be able to re-orient an image after it's been uploaded so that in these cases at least they can be fixed after the fact.

Elfin, after I "rotate" a picture in MS Office, I often forget to Save it.

Once I see it upright onscreen, something inside me feels that now it IS right and I forget that extra step of Saving.

I also think that any "system of systems" like cameras, photo-editing software, operating systems and Web browsers is prone to complex and hard to predict behavior. (* Footnote One)
