It looks like the photo shows both - mostly buds, but also 2 flower heads in the upper left on which the petals have already dropped.

Thank you Myriam for catching that. It is the flower buds only. Once the flowers appear it will no longer have that appearance. I will try to get a photo of a dead bloom and what it looks like behind the bloom.
