I see an option to print a plant list, but what does it print? I am assuming a print friendly version of black and white lists? Not the grid lines or photos or whatever? I'm just wondering what it looks like?

The only thing I see says "print this page", and I think that is exactly what it does, pictures and every thing.

@dave

That is what I thought maybe. I am a cheapskate and don't want to print all the little pics. I don't really need it and it will only be clutter on my paper really. Is there a way to only print the writing in a list format?

When you click on "Print this page" in the top-right of your list, it'll give you a printer-friendly version of the page with no little pictures included. Thumbs up

I have photos of my own plants in the notes section, and it appears when you select print they all print out as notes.

Edited to add: Just reading this again it was not very clear, the pictures of my plants included in the notes section do print as pictures.

That's the downside of including photos in your notes. I can't remove them from the notes area.

apparently whatever is in the notes section is 'seen' as a note, not a photo and it prints it all.

Frillylily,
No, photos in the notes area are "seen" as photos and they will print out, I am assuming you just don't have photos in the notes column.I doubt many people do, but I enjoy having my own plants in the listing, and I guess I really don't have much need to print out my entire list. If you don't have photos in the notes section, then it prints out a nice "report" or list, without using much ink. I learned something new again today.

Dave - I didn't see this print option (which is great!) before now. I tried it out and have a question ...

Can you only print one page at a time or is there an option to print the entire list?

well I 'm not Dave but I'll tell you what it did for me. I clicked on the printer icon at the right hand corner. It then showed my plant list in a list format. It does have lines or grids. It only showed one page but there were icons to click on for the other pages. In other words even though I only seen one page, it would print them all. So next I clicked on the print icon again. This time it was in my tool bar (yours may be in a different place on your screen than mine) in the upper left hand corner. Then it brought up the actual page it is going to print. There are options to print only 1 page or all or just certain pages. Then you click Print again to actually do it.
Of course I only printed my daylily list, so I just chose those options on my plant list before I ever clicked print to begin with.

If that didn't help, maybe Dave can explain it better.

You can but that's a function of your browser and operating system and how to do it varies depending on what you have.

On my machine I can print to file which creates a PDF. I can then open the pdf in my pdf reader and tell it to print page 1 or pages 1-3, etc.

Becky you should be able to select which pages you want to print after you say print. Once you get the "printer friendly version" up and are ready to print, right mouse click on it and select print, the print box should appear. You can select to print all or individual pages. Hope this helps!

Thanks Frillylily.

Thank you, Dave. It must be my browser then. Each page prints TWO pages instead of one. I guess I need to adjust my printer settings, too. I don't have the option to make it a pdf file either. (sigh)

Hmmm ... I can't adjust how much to a page, so it has to print out two pages for every 1 page here. I didn't realize the browser also controlled my printer options. Or does it? I tried reducing it to "fit page", but it still didn't work. All I really want is just a list of my plants. Invariably, someone always ask me about a plant that I can't remember the name of and it would be very helpful to just pull my list out and skim all the plant name as I always recognized the one I am looking for when I see the name.

Cat - My browser does not allow me to "right click" to get all the pages. Only the page I choose and only 1 page at a time. (sigh)

I wished I had a way to make it a pdf file instead and then I could print it as a whole file.

My color ink is about out and the plant names are in blue, so it will not legibly print out the names using just black ink. Bummer!

If you are referring to the ATP page "print this page" .... it prints this page .... and only that page. None of the other pages. One page at a time can only be chosen and printed.
