Uh...I checked on my plants on Tuesday and my cactus didn't have a flower. Tonight I let out my dog and found this. I have had the cactus for 8 years and this is the first time it has ever flowered.

Thought it was a bug. Glad I checked before doing anything rash. I am just surprised since she is a pathetic little plant.

I'd say it is some kind of epiphyllum.

I agree It does look like an Epi.
I garden for the pollinators.

I agree and they are not the easiest ones to bloom. Hopefully it will bloom more and more every year for you. They come in different colors.

Give them lots of light, and not too hot, as long as there is access to bright light. Remember to keep the media moist, it does not like drying out like its desert cousins.

So, treat it like my Thansgiving cactus? I make sure my thanksgiving cactus is inside when it gets too hot out.

A little stronger light than what you give your Thanksgiving cactus, but not direct scorching one.

Here are a few updated pictures of the bloom. I can't wait to see it open up all the way. I am surprised with it flowering. My aunt is a horticulturist and has never had her epi flower on her even though she takes good care of hers. I barely water it in the winter, and I have never fertilized it.

Looks very cute! I also do not fertilize my epis yet, seems so carefree and really took off when I brought it outside. Smiling It does need good bright light to encourage those blooms. And I guess the bloom time depends on what cultivar it is. My epis usually blooms during Spring, oftentimes gets blasted, as temps are still trying to stabilize from winter to spring. I am treating it like my outdoor orchids, planted in orchid media, though it gets a bit more water than the orchids.
