I have been working up in Alaska this month and enjoying the year round sunshine and 65º break from the hot Texas sun. I have been up to Flat Top Mountain (3500 alt) among the hemlock, The Farmer's Market and the giant veggies, The Coastal Trail along Cook's Inlet at low tide, and all around Town with it's gorgeous hanging baskets of petunias, and beds of tuberous begnoias, ornamental, kale, and other big flowers. The flowers, vegetables and foliage are extra large because of the 17-18 hours of daylight. Next week I've planned a hiking trip to Alyeska/Winner's Creek and will get some waterfall photos. I hope you enjoy these pictures.

Beautiful photos! Everything looks to lush. Such a contrast to the scorched earth back in most of Texas!

Isn't it just amazing how Cook's Inlet almost empties out in low tide and then rises 20-30' (I'm guess here) to refill in high tide?

Lovely photos, I really like the log structure with the sod roof in front of the concrete/glass hi-rise Hilton.

Here are the last of my Alaska photos. It was a brisk 61º when we hiked the 5 mile Winner Creek Hand Tram Trail in Alyeska, and saw Portage and Byron Glaciers in Girdwood, AK. The scenery, flora and fauna, the water, the ice was so awesome, the cameras couldn't possibly capture the beauty. It was breath taking. The buffalo were in the Animal Conservatory.

Beautiful pics...I think those mushrooms are Amita Muscari (or something like that), an hallucinogenic mushroom.

Gee, if I'd a known that they might have made or more interesting photos! Rolling on the floor laughing I actually ate some wild blueberries from bushes that were all over the forest. I was the brave one. The others were too afraid to try them. When I reported back that they were sour, one commented. " That is the toxins working!" Hahahaha Rolling on the floor laughing
