This came from a swap; have no clue what it is.
The plant is currently about 18 inches tall; there are ridges along the main stem; the leaves are quite shiny.
Also please, what is the correct word for the white bits that are growing along the stems?

It looks like False Nettle, and those are the flowers, I grow it for the Red Admiral butterfly.

Slightly embarrassed, I would like of officially thank all the members of All Things Plants for NOT reminding me that I had asked for an ID of this exact same plant about a year ago.

LOL greene, at least you're not alone in that regard. I did the very same thing recently ... I had even uploaded photo's to the database a year or so ago!

Now quick, add the photos to the entry and the plant to your inventory, before you forget! I speak from experience, you will forget if you don't do it right away.

Sad to say it took me from July 26 until late last night...very late last night.

My brain kept saying, "Why is that name so familiar? Where have I heard that name before?"
Even though on this thread the name that was offered was 'False Nettle' my brain was hung up on Spike...something Spike...Small Spike False Nettle....and it took more than 10 days for it to 'compute'!

I'm not old but my synapses are getting very rusty!
