I bought one of these on a clearance rack on impulse and I don't really know anything about it. How much sun does it need? It says on the tag sun to partial shade. Our sun here is pretty hot in the afternoons so I am wondering if that means morning sun only? The leaves are dark of course so I don't want to burn them up. Does this plant need anything special to thrive? It looks a little unhappy in the pot, I repotted it last night. I will probably not plant it until later in the year. Will it over winter in a large pot?

I just saw this. I brought mine from Ebay 7 yrs ago. It was little twig. I thought it was dead after the first year. I moved to a new house and dug it up and moved it with me. I planted it in a afternoon sun area and it has consumed my house.

The one thing I know it wants to survive and get started good was moisture. When I kept it extremely moist is when it took over.

I think if you give it part sun morning or afternoon and lots of moisture you will be successful.

This is my twig. It grew to 8' tall and I chopped it down to 4'.

Thank you, that is helpful, I didn't realize they liked moist soil. I have it potted right now until I find the right spot for it and am ready.
