Very pretty. I grew up in Philly. Really miss spring bulbs and fall and lilacs and snow but only on Christmas. I hope this forum takes off once folks find it Thumbs up

Here I am, the old Lancaster County born and raised gal, now a NJ native. Been here for over 25 years. Still have ties in PA.
I am delighted to see we have a Mid Atlantic Forum. The people in the Northeast Forum have been so wonderful over the years, I must say, I am not leaving their group because I lub them big time for putting up with me all this time. I will definitely post here to keep things moving.

My busy time is coming since I live on a Christmas Tree Farm. I will certainly tell you all about life there in a few days. This is the time of year we trim the trees so they look like Christmas Trees. That and mowing the grass between the rows because we are very fussy nursery people. When our customers come to see trees they do not walk in weeds or high grass. Everything is trimmed to a T.

Of course I am still selling houseplants online and business is busy, lots of PA people buying on eBay just now. I will post what is growing in the greenhouse as well as the farm. That is all for now. See you all soon.

Thank you @Dave. Now we have a home at last.

thanks, JB! I look forward to hearing more about the Christmas tree trimming and seeing photos of the farm and greenhouse!

We live in suburban Maryland outside of DC. I love it when I'm able to get out of the City area and see trees and hills and farms. So I will experience it all vicariously through yours and others' posts! Smiling

Hi All! My name is Karen. I live in a 60 year old townhouse in Baltimore County with my husband and two kids (son, 6, and daughter, 2). I have two gardens: the front yard and the back yard. Because my total square footage is so small, I tend to use a lot of annuals. I can't help but love tropicals. I've been a lover of plants for years, but have only had about 5 years to flex my horticultural muscles. Every year, I learn more about growing plants from seeds and cuttings (a lot of what I learn is what NOT to do!) and also about overwintering those beloved tropicals. I've got a particular penchant for coleus and colocasia. I'm not much of a plant collector or a perennial plant grower, except I love hostas and ornamental grasses. I love to use plants to develop an overall effect, a color scheme that will really wow my neighbors as they walk by my house.

I'm looking forward to getting to know new people, and keeping in touch with others that I've known for about a year now in another forum.

hi, Typ! I look forward to seeing photos of your gardens!
I should probably officially introduce myself, too! :-)
My name is Robin (Catmint) and I live in Maryland in the DC suburbs with my almost-13 year old daughter and 4 furry (indoor) felines. I have been a lifelong lover of nature and flowers, and finally began 'flexing my horticultural muscles' (love that phrase, Typ--LOL) after we moved into our current home. I've gotten into gardening for the pollinators this past year, and love seeing all the butterflies and bees fluttering and humming through my yard. I also enjoy watching the birds that visit my suburban backyard feeder.

@TypWC, please pass on any insights you've gained about starting plants from cuttings! For some reason, I have not had much luck with this so far...

Thought I'd stop in and say hi. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Terri. I live outside of DC on 35 acres of wooded property that we named Aspen Hill in memory of Aspen, a beloved American Eskimo dog. My gardening interests are all about shade and trying to garden in deer country Smiling . I've been using Plants Lists for several years and have played with a Blog - love these ATP features! I haven't spent time in the discussion forums though, just never seems to be enough time to check out all the wonderful gardening things available on the internet these days.

Hello Everyone, My name is Teri and I started my gardens 8 years ago when we built our retirement home. I made so many planting mistakes until I hit on the on line garden clubs. My first encounter was with Dave's Garden. I found this site because that name popped up each time that I searched for plant info. Then there was cubits.org and now we have ATP. It just keeps getting better. When we moved here, the property was just a huge mass of either mud or weeds. The whole 2 1/2 acres had been part of a huge farmland. The first thing that we did was to put in 10 trees. Very slowly we added to this until we now have more than I can handle. It's been such fun learning and making good friends here. I hope one day that this forum produces its very own plant swap. I've been to a few and they are lots of fun. Let's see where we go from here!!!!~!
