Recently I've decided to downsize my plant collection so I can take better care of it.

Out of the plants I bought I will keep my aloes
,jades, desert roses, two rubber trees,my 3 Haworthia Truncatas, and my variegated Gasteria Gracilis.

Also I will keep one each of my seedlings.
another reason I'm doing this is because I'm moving to hot springs.

I use plants as therapy to fight my depression.
Which gets hard somedays.

Which brings me to my new fav succulent topic tree aloes. I want this thread to be a place to show the progress of my tree aloes and also for the discussion of everyone else's aloes as well. I want this to be a fun thread.

Here's a pic of them of the ones I have now.

Thumb of 2014-08-01/adamgreen/e8fbc1

From left to right:
Aloe ramosissima X dichotoma
Aloe plicatilis
Aloe marlothii
Aloe barberae
Aloe ramosissima

Right now I have four Aloe dichotoma seedlings.
I just planted seeds of:
Aloe barberae
Aloe ferox
Aloe khamiesensis
Aloe lineata
Aloe suzannae
Aloe vaombe

Also I would like to discuss the best way to take care of them in pots.

Adam, you said Tree Aloes. Do you mean they will grow tree size? Just what a lot of us house keepers don't want to hear.
Are you moving into a warmer climate? A big yard?

You have proven yourself a seedsman. To go any further, you have to own a green hosue. Even a small one. Nice collection.

Can you take pics of the seedlings and add them to the database when you have time?

I found a nice house for rent in hot springs.
600 a month rent half off first months rent with a one year lease.
the house is 898 sq foot and the lot is 7000 sq foot and fenced in.
Two bedroom one bathroom.
Plenty enough room for my plants and a nice place to live.

Well plans have changed I'm staying in my home town. I found a nice one bedroom apartment with a patio and small yard out front for 434 a month plus electric.

My apartment will be a jungle during winter when my plants get large.

For sure I'll have 10 tree aloes
Aloe arborescens (spineless)
Aloe barberae
Aloe dichotoma
Aloe ferox
Aloe lineata (Blue Strap Form)
Aloe marlothii
Aloe plicatilis
Aloe ramosissima
Aloe ramosissima X dichotoma
Aloe vaombe

I guess I could decorate some during the holidays when they get large. Rolling on the floor laughing

When I store them in the apartment during the winter do I withhold all water to keep them from growing and becoming leggy?

Also Adam, you don't what to increase the humidity so high that the apartment may grow mold. Keeping the plants you have should not pose that threat. I know some who tried to place there room into a green house and they had a very bad case of mold and mildew. Cost $$$ to remove and a lot of damage. People with tropicals can cause this to happen.
In my cellar, I use plastic to cover the area completely and I know it's not needed with the plants being Sansevieria.
