I got one in trade last year called "tall form". It has bloomed all summer and is still blooming. Ultimately it grew to be about 6 feet tall.

Name: Kermit Carter Elk, California (Zone 9a) Offering 400+ Salvias and counting
We are trialing S. psudococcinea this year, which according to the rules of nomenclature is just a ssp. of S. coccinea. It is somewhat different from the "regular" varieties, very tall (up to 6 feet) and quite like the picture.
If that's the 'Tall Form' that Alana got from me, then it's the form that Robin Middleton describes as, "Collected in Mexico, much like the species, but can reach 9 ft. in height in hot conditions. In the UK…5 ft."
