I got seeds for this for free, but from the UK and I live in the US. They flourished! I read berries are edible to people but I can't find info about that?

In late summer and early fall it will produce small berries that turn dark purple when ripe. They are edible and have a flavor similar to dark chocolate but are a little astringent. Hope this helps!
