At last got the old girl working again! With some new washers and a filter for the electric pump I finally got the old pump doing it what it should do.
Even got the path up to it for Sarah's cats to have a drink, sorted out.
Regards.
Neil.

Just to let you know, that plant ended up being Stinging Nettle which I found one day when I wiped my fingers against it. Plant is now history. Won't have none of that around here.

PLEASE tell me they aren't bindweed. If so, the horticultural vinegar is close at hand. It's here in the junk/computer/orchid room. Lee Grumbling

Can they be transplanted and moved easily? I think he may need just a bit more sun that what he gets in this particular location. I may just have the perfect place for it in a few weeks.

Cherie, Harrier, would be good, lands and takes off with no runway, and my late father - in - law worked on it, and we saw it's first flight at Farnbrough Air Show, same when Concord had it's first flight at Farnborough, you wanted to duck when it came over low, that was something.

I bet that was something. I am getting itchy now to start planting. Mike still needs to do the re-bar before the cement and he said he will need two whole trucks worth of cement. No way he'll get it all done tomorrow. They don't deliver cement on weekends and Monday being Memorial Day, a national holiday they won't then either. So he's gonna try and pour half tomorrow and the other half on Tuesday if it doesn't rain......................

This project is going as smoothly as the others went. Weather is being just too unpredictable.........

When we put the sidewalk around the side of the garage in 2007 my granddaughter was about 18 months old. We have her hand print with the date in it.We have already decided that she will have her footprints in this walk with the date. Told my daughter, when Ed and I are gone, before the house gets sold she has to cut that part out of each sidewalk and and use them in her own home should she have one.

Course we're liable to have squirrel and chipmunk prints one them as well. They are having a blast running in circles now.

Neil, as the Winter merged into Spring, I noticed the leaves on some of the gardenias were showing signs of chlorosis and I added a little aluminum sulfate and sprinkled some sulfur around them as I usually do.
My question is: is it necessary to add any more al. sulfate if the symptoms show again or just use a fertilizer for gardenias, rhododendrons, and camellias? Lee

Dear Lee, if it keeps happening it means they are in the wrong soil in the first place! They prefer a peaty (sphagnum moss) soil. The pH is very acid on this.
Try mulching with peat! A lot of people do this and think that by adding chemicals each year they can change what nature out there in the first place, nature will win!
Also a lot of people mistake Chloris of lime for what is magnesium deficiency! Try using Epsom salts at one handful 1 1/2 ounce per sq yard!
Also do not give them tap water!
Regards.
Neil.

Thanks, Neil. Obviously I've taken the wrong approach. Will do.
My regards to you, Sarah, and Muriel. I've not heard from her today. Wonder why? Lee
