I'd been seeing Naked Ladies blooming here and there lately and bemoaning the fact that I left all of mine behind and then I noticed some coming up alongside the house...and remembered Jer saying that he'd seen some here when he was looking at the house to rent....and SURPRISE! They're opening and they're the ones with white throats. I'd never seen these before, nor heard of them until Becca mentioned some few years ago that she had them. It's interesting to me the types of plants that will be used predominantly in one area and find myself wondering if mine are the result of many years of 'pass along' plants circulating in one area.....

I'm sure you will continue to find "surprises" as time goes by. That is a pretty one. I've never seen that before either.

Someone was a gardener here at one time...what's surprising is that some things remain after having been a neglected rental for years. It helps that we get rain here.

Hilarious! I don't think you can kill those, once they get established. I like them, but don't have the room or the time to wait for them.

Anything that is scented, I can find room and time for. I wait each year to be able to smell these....

I don't remember a scent, but it's been many years since I had them.

I've never seen that kind of naked lady! What a nice surprise... We had some bulbs come up in our garden, the first few years we were here. I would have loved to see the garden in its glory, years ago - clearly someone loved it. But the areas where plants came up were too far from the house for me to work on... Once we got rid of all the ivy & decking within 50 - 60 feet of the house, we focused on that area.

I'm watching for them all over town now and the only ones I'm seeing are the white throated ones. I'm sure they exist elsewhere, but I shall call them "Crescent City Naked Ladies"...lol..

In thes pics, I think I do see a pure pink one.....

There are a lot of A. belladona hybrids which range from pure white to deep crimson. If you buy small seedling bulbs in bulk they are very reasonable vs. $25+ for mature bulbs of a specific color.

Yes, amazing...thanks for that. I like the ones that were planted here, must have been ages ago, but find that they don't have the same nostalgia impact for me as the old mid-range pink ones. These also don't seem to have the same clarity of scent as the old solid pink ones, but that may also have something to do with cooler weather here, dunno.
