I picked all the green tomatoes, and brought the Colcasias into the house. We are in for a taste of winter in early September.
The good thing is there is rain coming first, which should moderate any frost damage. The Manitoba Maple has already turned yellow this week.

All my tomatoes and peppers are in pots so they are sitting on the kitchen table for the rest of the week.
It isn't supposed to be that cold at night, only -3C at most, so I'm hoping most of my garden makes it through.
And then it goes back to 20C+ next week.

Whatever makes it through tends to depend on the hardiness of the plant and its location. I'm hopeful everything up by the house will be fine because I've covered them, and they are fairly sheltered in that location, and draw some heat off the building. I'm doing laundry every night so the dryer vent can blow warm air over them for half an hour. I'm curious to see what makes it through -4C at night. There's a lot of snow so that might provide some insulation as well. We're getting 10-15 cm today, which is going to result in a lot of broken trees, because most of them are already weighed down with the snow we got yesterday.

Oh my goodness, Dora, that is just awful, way to early to have the white stuff. I hope your plants make it. Group hug

I think most things will be okay.
I did not bring any geraniums in,but I think they are good down to about minus 5 ºC .
The trees are taking a beating because they still have the leaves, and this is heavy wet snow.

I hate to see that happening to the trees, that heavy snow is so destructive. Sad

My morning glories were up by the house, covered, and were still dying, so I just finished dragging the entire trellis/bench in to the living room and spraying them with water. Extreme measures, perhaps, but there is no way I was going to give up that easily. It took them all summer to start blooming (last week).

They might still die, but it won't be for lack of effort.

It appears to have worked. The leaves on my MG seem to have recovered. I expect my roommate/tenant raised her eyebrows when she found a six foot high bench in the living room this morning though.

A lot of people are reporting horrendous tree damage today though - much worse than Monday's storm.

This cold weather is coming on much too quickly... my sympathies to all of you in Canada, you're making me feel like I live in the tropics (well, not quite!) Still hoping to get some ripe BIG tomatoes...
