Most areas around lake's west side are pretty much left to nature. This is the area we visit/explore. Members of this expedition were myself, Captain Jack, my wife, her brother (visiting from Texas), and our trusty and extra energetic Scout Dog and explorer in his own right, Plato.
Goldenrods were most plentiful, sometimes large expanses, often sharing habitat with other wilds...

Beautiful, J!! Truly beautiful.

That isn't just any cute dog, Vic, that's the amazingly dignified Plato with the wondrous blue eyes that rival the blue of the skies in J's photos. Smiling

Sorry to be so late to the party, we had a very violent storm last Thursday with winds of 80 to 100 mph.
We had some broken tree branches but no uprooting, some of our neighbors weren't so lucky. We were without power for two days and a lot of clean up. My computer works rather slow now and my husband's is out of commission so things are not normal around here.
Beautiful pictures J, I love those goldenrods and asters.

Josephine, I am sorry the damage was so bad over there. I got lucky--the broken branches missed the house and landed in the front garden and on the porch; and power was out only for five hours or so. Good thing for us some of the heat has eased, yes? Hope the computers are back to full functioning soon. Group hug

Glad you are both well. We've had no really powerful 'blow' storms but got inundated with 7" of rain last week (so quoteth the local weatherman quoting the local 'weather watcher'.) Our back yard (a good portion of the garden) was flooded for a while.

Right about that. I'm glad we got a new sump pump this summer or the basement may have been in dire straits.
