So Poohdaddy, how was your festival? Did you see any butterflies? Hope you made lots of money and had an enjoyable weekend. We plan to get up to Lake LBJ this week to see if there are any Monarchs winging in.

Sandi,

Our Fall Plant Sale is always smaller than the one in the Spring. The Butterfly Festival is growing though, but still didn't have much success with the tag and release. We only ended up with one Monarch. Then about an hour after it all ended two more showed up in the demo gardens!! We had had at least 9 Monarch caterpillars in our butterfly house during the week before so don't know if the timing was just off or what. Thanks for asking.

We found most people here were thinking about putting their plants away in the fall, unless it was vegetables for sale. We had better sales in spring in conjunction with the Botanical Garden Festival.

We haven't seen any Monarchs in a while. There were lots sighted on the Llano River last weekend. The rain and the wind kept them in place for a day. I was hoping the wind would drive them a little further east into our neighborhood. Maybe next year!
