I found this interesting and thought others might like it too. It is the Cactus Garden at the Getty Center (art museum) in Los Angeles. Yes, some of the plants are succulents and not cactus but it is called the Cactus Garden.

I love it. I think when they say cactus garden it does not have to be all cactus.

I guess it is like us northerners say "flower gardens" are not totally all plants that flower.

With Halloween coming next week, They sort of remind me of pumpkins in the field. Those big cactus are actually euphorbia. Nice, now what to do with mine before they get that big.
On top of Mount Washington, an area in Pittsburgh, they have overlooks that view the city much the way this does LA.
Thanks for the pictures Kelli.

Bev, also to conserve water, they have turned off all of their water features except one.

CareBear, I am from the Pittsburgh area and have been to Mt. Washington. It is a great view.

Stush I had business associates in San Francisco and I traveled to San Fran several times a year. We had a meeting in Pittsburgh and they all said Pittsburgh looked just like San Francisco. We have the hills, bridges, Topography is very similar to San Fran. I even felt I was in Pgh because they even still have street cars.

I had visited Pittsburgh in the late 70's and it seemed pretty "funky" then in '07 I had a conference there, and I was shocked at how clean, and nice the downtown area was!! It was so pleasant walking around there along the river!! Thumbs up
Kelli thanks for the pics! Wow how lovely, I keep missing this place, and Huntington gardens...I'm going to LA in another few months, so I will plan on seeing both of them soon!! And your pic inspired me to do it this visit! Hilarious! I tip my hat to you.

Nice photos Kelli! I love the Getty Center! Been there too in 2012, love that succulent/cacti garden area.

Hey Greg when you go down LA, do visit California Cactus Center in Pasadena..that is one place I did not get to visit sadly, always out of our way when we are down there. Don't know if you like tillandsias too, Rainforest Flora in Torrance, is a wonderful place to visit too. Smiling
