For some reason, this year the heuchera seem extremely happy in their locations - most get half shade here. I actually had to move a number of them in August to make way for a deer fence being installed ( not a good time here in the Mid-Atlantic on the edge of zones 6-7) but fortunately we got rain in August, so the plants all thrived. Some of the plants began sending up bloom spikes for the second time in September - not complaining but wondering if this is common. I don't recall seeing a lot of rebloom spikes in the fall during past years. Although fall color is nowhere near as vivid as spring, I'm enjoying the heuchera areas now. Feeling some concern that the deer will eat everything outside the fence down to nubs again but at least the majority are protected.

I read an article stating that heucheras are native to New Mexico. Does anyone know if this is true or not? It seems paradoxical, given the NM climate.

Your gardens look great. Things are blooming here that normally flower in the Spring . At work we have some Azalea and Rhododendrons flowering right now. Different species of Heuchera are native to most of North America.
