Good topic, Julia. Here's some snaps from previous years under a 'Frosty' subdirectory that I am currently using for my rotating desktop background. I'll have to try to motivate myself to get some from this year to post (brrr).

I believe it's dill, although I didn't label it. Can't think of what else it might be.

Nope - I had some of that but lost it to the neighbor pup. Boy, I've sure seen some really impressive stands of agapanthus down on the Oregon coast, it must like salt air or the sharp drainage or some such thing. Beautiful plants.

I lost a few to the wet and cold last winter. Some that I had for years and grew from seed. Sighing!

Nice pictures. We finally got snow that stuck two days ago. Thank Heavens. Christmas without snow is unthinkable.

My husband's family met up for the Thanksgiving weekend down at Long Beach and some 45 of us stayed at a motel/condo on the beach. Weather was anything from full-on downpour to sunshine to a few flakes of snow (!). Here's some late fall color found on my walks.

Gorse blooming on the beach

Dune grass really catching fire with the sunset

Not real sure what this one is, perhaps a type of pussytoe?

And what's a trip to the beach without a few sunset shots...

It was a nice trip. We took a couple extra days to meander home which gave us time to go on the Willapa Preserve walk (highly recommended, really nice artwork tucked in among the native plants), spend an extra day at Grays Harbor State Park (which is where we caught the beautiful sunset) and another day at Lake Sylvia State Park (serene little campground just outside of Montesano). Instead of getting on I-5, we came home via the east side of Puget Sound, lunched in Poulsbo, and took the Kingston ferry over to Edmonds. Missed all the Seattle-Tacoma-Olympia traffic and had a calm leisurely drive home.
