At some point in the not yet imaginable future, this could maybe begin to start to consider the possibility of attempting to look as cool as Bev's winning planter. Not trying to insult her work by comparing mine, just to say that I was inspired to create this humble hanging homage. Happening to find the great Echeveria was extremely lucky.

Senecio mandraliscae and Echeveria 'Santa' with some leaves (of other plants.) I will add more to it as material becomes available.

This was the top of a mini conservatory. I turned it upside-down, filled with window screen, added the hanging wire (rolled plastic-coated steel wire is very inexpensive, BTW,) and then the plants.

If anybody else was similarly moved, show us the results!

Tiffany, you busy girl you! I'm flattered that my planted container inspired you such that you grabbed the cover of your mini conservatory and sprung into action to make a new planter! Poor naked bottom of the mini convervatory... Sad

Hanging planter looks really good and with additional plants that you say you might add, it will be a great hanging planter! Thumbs up Also, I am surprised and think you're lucky to have found a E. Santa. Drooling I haven't seen another one since I bought mine in 2012. I did spy a E. 'Lime & Chili' again after not having seen one for almost 2 years. Enjoy your new creation!

TY so much, Bev! Eventually, I'd love to get rid of all of the fugly plastic pots...

And LOL! You're right, poor conservatory. It's just been quietly rusting in various storage locations over the years. I've tried using it a few times, occasionally, but since it doesn't drain, plantings never last long in it, either rotting or baking too dry. Maybe I could do something similar with the bottom part, if I can fill the tiny planting area with quikrete or something else that will prevent the planting area from being a cesspool, maybe try to put a hole in the bottom. Will post pics if I do!

I thought it was cool to find a plant named 'Santa' right before the holidays. It's one of those cactuscollection.com plants that they sometimes have mixed trays of, though rare to find any specimen that looks so great. Every bit as festive as holiday cacti, IMVHO.

Tiffany,

WOW Tiffany that is a pretty container. Now I have to go looking for that container.

I idea borrowed the winning planter from Bev last year. Every time I went to the Thrift store I looked for pretty wire baskets.

As soon as I saw it in the contest I had to vote for it because it is my favorite display for succulents.

I am still looking for Lynn's swan. I know one day I will find it. Rolling on the floor laughing

Thanks for that vote Cinta and I hope you find that swan. I would think it not too hard to find; every time I go to the collectibles stores, I see them but gotta say, not as nice as the one Lynn planted in!

Yes I have picked up a lot of swans but only glass ones. Because I collect glass anyway. But you are right I have not seen any as nice as Lynn's.

A succulent; I should go check on it; it's in a part of the yard that has been somewhat neglected.... *Blush*

Tiffany I like your planter and maybe you could plant those "bog plants" in your terrarium bottom (You know the winning photo!) I'm sure they'd love your weather too!! Thumbs up
