...tin can flowers?

I can't find a website that has good instructions for multi-layer flowers, only the singles. Thanks for your help!

Soda, beer cans.

I've made the single ones. Looks like the multi layered ones are just more cans on top of each other. Paint each layer before you put it together.

Looks like you will want several difference size cans.

......And gloves, don't forget gloves!

Cut the top off and cut strips. You can stack the cans and make them as frilly and layered as you want and glue a marble in the middle. Cannot get any simpler than that. No water or food needed.

Yes, looks easty, I'm wondering how to bend the rebar....also, these were big, probably a foot across. Thinking I'd have to try to get my hands on really large food containers/cans. I bought some tin snips and leather gloves last night, gonna attempt one today

Do you live near a local restaurant, where they would have large cans. Smaller restaurants, diners even food kitchens will have them and might be willing to save them if you give them a bin to throw them into.

Sandi, please post of picture for us. Do you have a vice? You might be able to bend the rebar with that.

I have to look for it again but I saw a craft using alluminum foil. If you really want to make the flowers a certain size this is a good time to buy the colored holiday foil. It is thick and if folded several times it would be even stiffer.

I just came across this thread. I made some tin flowers last winter. I used food cans, pop/beer cans. and tins (like what popcorn or cookies come in). The top of the tins I used to make leaves for the stem on some of them. I had a supper club saving me large ketsup and other large cans. Here are pictures of a few. I have also posted pictures of my glass flowers, sun catchers, and glass totems or stacks on other treads. Next I will post a few pictures of my latest items I made.

Here are a few butterflies and dragonflies that I made with copper tube and copper wire. I also made a few things with barbed wire and barn boards.

They sure look nice. Those dragon flies are so cute.
A couple loops of barbwire will make a nice wreath, too.
