By threegardeners

A moss pole is the best way to grow plants like Philodendrons and Syngoniums. Moss poles are really pretty simple to make; let me show you.

ifn a house is not heated during the day(people at work)the plants in cold weather suffer.
is it logical to try to have a light heating spiral underneath. or the kind to 21 degrees also what happens to hydrophonic plants they actually get the temperture of water(the same as the surrounding) how about humidity? does it have any purpose if it is cold .what does it help?i am talking about a home in jerusalem ...at night it can drop to 8 or even 3 celcius.
wich part of the plant actually suffers from the cold?
thank you

For the most part they shouldn't suffer. I leave my houseplants outside in the fall and the temps can drop to 4 or 8 Celsius. It doesn't seem to bother them.

Whoa! Let's not assume that all houseplants have the same temperature requirements. Some tender tropical species will begin to deteriorate in temps below 15 C (60 F.), while others can withstand short periods of frost. It is best to know your plant species and research their native habitats so you can better determine their temperature tolerances.

Also, many plants can with stand cooler temps if those temps are introduced gradually as this is what happens in nature. Sudden drops in temperature can be devastating to plants.
