@Esperanza I finally got a few photos of sempervivum roots for you. These are from 3 different sempervivum varieties represented. All are semps rosettes that are normally 1 1/2 inches to 3 inches at maturity. You can see that some put out a much more extensive root system, and some put out a shorter thicker root system. This will differ according to growing conditions. I hope this is helpful.

I just saw this. Thankyou very much for posting. I have lots of new root growth on mine now. I'll try and remember to takes some pics of the new growth next time I plant some more up.

Here's S.Noir I picked up for half price yesterday. I just took it from the container to view the roots before planting. Found two baby slugs hiding inside (squish).

I forgot to mention the root length is 3 3/4 " . It probably would be more in a deeper pot although it's not potbound.

The roots look healthy. Sure does look a bit water logged though.
