Where do those little dry, hard, brown sticks we poke into hams come from? Seed pods? Vines? Trees?

How great that this article recycled the week before Christmas. Heres an idea for what to do with cloves. When I was a child my mother did a craft with me where we stuck an orange with cloves, completely covering it. Then while still moist rolled it in cinnamon with a bit of nutmeg til some spices stuck to flesh of orange. Hang on a ribbon to dry and keep closets smelling nice. Now that mom is 87 and has moved to a nursing home -- and she has become blind -- this is a great idea for a Christmas gift. She could at least smell it even though she can't see and it would maybe reawaken memories that dementia has taken. I would not have thought of this I'd I hadn't read this article, I love ATP!

@SCButtercup What a lovely idea to make a pomander ball for your mother!
