I wasn't sure about how hardy this sedum is, so I brought some indoors and left some out on the covered deck.
Both are watered when the soil is dry in the top inch or so of the container.

So far the one outside has been in temps of low 20's, our coldest weather won't arrive until Jan. or Feb. So we will see. I really should put one of them out at the mercy of mother nature, to see how it does.

Sedum confusum. It is hardy here, and a great sedum.
I can send you some in the spring, if you like.

I took this photo this afternoon:

Sedum hispanicum var. minus 'Aureum', aka Fine Gold Leaf in its second winter here. Last winter was very cold, down near zero here so it is tough. It's just that I can't say that it "thrives". I'm not sure what it "really" wants in order for it to become more of a ground cover.

Also from this afternoon, S. confusum and S. laxum, respectively, growing in the Table Garden, they do stand out during this dull time of year:

Great photos Connie. I'll try to get some photos of mine tomorrow. Not sure it will happen as the rain has been heavy.
With all the young people here today, we put them to work laying sandbags, we aren't far from flooding. Now we don't need to worry.

Keep your feet dry, Lynn!
Yes, your S. confusum and laxum look great, Connie! And I have the same problem with the Fine Gold. Guess I should be thankful I have any left surviving and it may be asking too much for any "thriving" to happen with it. May have to give it up.

I think Fine Gold is great for containers because its low growing form and chartreusey color make for a prominent splash. It was one of the major plants in that large Asian themed trough planter at Garland Nursery.

If Garland's still has it I will try to get a photo although it doesn't look as good as it did when Patty took that photo. Maybe they will redo it.

Thank you Connie. You might even check with Garland's to see if they have a photo they would let you use?

Patti, if you can find it it is a wonderful sedum to have. It is a species, so it will come true to the parent plant from seed. If mine blooms this year I will save seed and send to you.
