I have extra lily seeds from this past season and would like to share them here. I have trumpets, Asiatics, and Orienpets. No Orientals. Many of my seeds are from tetraploid crosses.

I'm stocked up on stamps and envelopes . Treemail me your name and address and I will start packing and sending them out. We can discuss in treemail any particular preferences you may have.

Beware…this is where starting lilies from seed addiction starts. Oh yeah….and you CAN do it (in case you just told yourself that you can't). It's easy, it's fun and you'll be so glad you did when you see your very first unique flower. If I can do it, anyone can. Oh yeah, and pard has some great seeds too!

Today I planted the seeds you sent. Thank you so much. I had MLK day off, so I had the time and it will help
me remember the sow day. I don't see a forum for tissue culture of lilies. Let me know if you're aware of
someone into that. I saved a few seeds for agar planting in baby food jars. It bugs me that around here magazine racks don't display gardening magazines this time of year as though we stop thinking about it. There is more time to read them in the winter! Wish me luck. Pete

Good luck with the seeds! I haven't tried tissue culture; too fussy for me. You have to have sterile conditions to keep mold from growing.

You might try doing some internet searches for information on tissue culture for lilies.

Various Lily crosses. Switched jobs last year giving me less garden time , was worried I wouldn't get much chance to do this. Well...pollen flew everywhere in any spare moment I had. thus a bumper crop.

The third one with the orange-copper shades only grows 2.5-3ft tall.

It looks like the "yellow tetraploid from PNWLS" wasn't tetraploid. Or I made a mistake in labeling . I sure like that third one. That would be a cross of two Sims' 2n trumpets (which I no longer have). Super nice inflorescence. Thanks Rick for looking up this info.

That third one is a favorite of mine, too. I have multiple plants. Unfortunately they are among others, so I can't dig any bulbs in the spring, but I could this fall. Treemail me if you'd like it, Pard.

That third one appears to be kind of a compact plant all the way around, from it's quite compact inflorescence to it's densely populated, long narrow foliage. Who says Trumpets have to be breed tall to look good! This one could even be grown as a patio plant! I'd be interested in a couple scales or bulblets if you do lift them next Fall.

By the way, I've been meaning to tell you---remember those 6 little colored bulblets you sent me a couple years ago? One of those had nine flowers last summer. I'd have to pull records for a name, but as I recall, it would be the little black and white bulblet--the flowers were orange.

That's great Lorn. Ya know, there just may have been a Pseudoscorpion hiding in those bulbs. Now wouldn't that be cool!

This year, I noticed a lot more color variations of stem bulblets (not bulbils) from the exact same individual plants, although colors weren't as saturated. Gosh, there were just so many different ways that different plants reacted to the unusual summer I had last season. I try to delay quick assumptions, but I hope a lot of those observations turn out to be Ahah! moments.

I'm not counting the chickens before they hatch, but I there ought to be plenty of material available for that dwarfish one. I'm pretty sure it produces ample stem bulblets, too. It was interesting to note that the white one in that group of four pics only rarely has stem bulblets.

I don't remember what I sent you, Rick, but the white one sure reminds me of my Halinar tet white trumpets. They are very sturdy and seem to multiply more by bulb division. If it is tetraploid maybe that is why it is reluctant to make stem bulblets.
