Anyone got suggestions on what to do to keep my plant healthy & encourage it to grow larger & more robust? It has just finished with it's flush of blooms that I bought it with this past summer, the last one finally completely faded & the red bloom dropped off leaving the yellow stemey part. What can I do also to encourage it to rebloom after it rests?

Donna, I assume it's indoors now. Make sure to put it where it can get some good sunlight. Don't over water it, but also, don't let it dry out! Does that make sense?

If you want to fertilize, keep it weak. Spring will be soon enough to really fertilize for blooms. Watch out for bugs that attack house plants and treat them right away.

I'm sure there are others that can add to this. (Love your avatar!).

Oh yes Sandi, it is indoors. I am doing all that. It just seems to be sitting there though. I guess though, it won't grow much till spring. I would like to see it get thick and lush. I let the soil begin to feel slightly dry before I water, but not to the point that the plant is beginning to look droopy.

Yes you did Ken! I got some good advice from Sandi. Thx to you both! I just posted pix of my wisteria this past summer in vines forum. They were so pretty! We had a lot of rain & the darn things got away from me. Got up the light pole and I noticed it. Took the lopping shears and was about to snip them back till I looked up, they were almost touching the transformer, and could possibly be, so I didn't dare touch them. I called the power co. They had to come cut them out. I was most embarrassed. They reassured me it was ok, to think nothing of it. They had done little else for weeks, same kind of doggone vines too. Lol

I wanted to add that I had quite a few Anthuriums a few years ago. They were outside during the summer and in a hoop house for our short winters. I noticed they were not thriving a couple of years ago, so I gave them more water and fertilizer. I should have pulled them out and repotted them. Our Texas heat, coupled with the drought, was too much for most of them. I just couldn't keep them watered. I think their roots had outgrown their pots and the water was just "passing through" the pots.

It seems to be doing fine in that respect, but I plan to repot come spring. Thank you.
