Just in time for Amaryllis Celebration week...
The bulb that I purchased a few years ago ('09) as Hippeastrum papilio is blooming, again.
I took a bunch of photos, all excited to contribute to the DB and all...
...but I don't think this thing is actually papilio Confused because it really looks a whole lot to me like 'Exotic Star' but not at all like papilio is supposed to...which really kind of aggravates me because I have been mistakenly pretending that this is papilio for so long Rolling my eyes.

What do you think?

(really tall scape flopped quite a bit when I moved it from the background of the dirty window)
I sure hate to submit photos to the 'wrong' place!

I have read that 'Exotic Star' is a cross with H.papilio and H.neopardinum? Does anyone know?

That is Exotic Star. Veronica Reed's Hippeastrum book was published in 2004. It doesn't list Exotic Star so it must be a more recent hybrid.
I'm sure that Papilio must have been a parent due to the overall shape and markings on the bloom.
