February came roaring in with snow and wind. The SU went and plowed enough to go and feed, but said he wasn't doing any more till it was done, since with the wind he'd just have to do it all over again.
The neighbor has a heifer he'd better come and get tomorrow.........she's bagging up and getting tight in the rear udder, and this morning has belly edema that she didn't have yesterday. I told him yesterday it might be a good thing if he could get her, but all his help was otherwise occupied. Wouldn't have hurt him to hook up the trailer and bring it over, as both the SU and I were here. Oh, well..........just don't want a calf on MY watch, since all the shelter there is is an open front shed.
I'm glad the woodpile is big; weather like this makes it shrink in a hurry, even tho we have an efficient furnace.
