Last week as I was messing with my plants in the garage; I heard some flapping and chirping noise coming from DH's car parked in the driveway. I was looking at the car and then saw a cardinal popping up onto the right front mirror. He was attacking the mirror - then he would rest on the top of the mirror. This went on for at least 10 minutes - while I ran to get my camera. He would fly off into my tree or my neighbor's tree and then come back and start attacking again.

DH was wondering how both his mirrors were being dive-bombed with bird poo (he had been wiping it off for couple of days). DH put towels to cover the mirrors...but once the towels were off, Red would attack. Red even have the audacity to attack my mirrors in the garage!!! Had to shoo him out of the garage - now I have towels on my mirrors.

There is a Mrs. Red but she did not attack the mirrors. Red has also attacked our neighbor's car so my neighbor thinks Red is mad because he cut down the tree in his backyard where Red and Mrs were living.

I've not seen anything like Red...

Betsy, it seems birds will do that. They think there is a rival as they do not realize it's their own reflection. Someone was saying she's had this happen quite a number of times with her house windows. She said she got a small mirror & hung it near the window & the birds begin attacking the mirror, then gradually you move it a little further away until you can finally get it a goodly distance away hopefully in some tree. At least at that point they are attacking the small mirror & not your car mirrors. Silly birds!
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
