We have one of these in our fifth wheel camper. It's occurred to me this would be wonderful in the GH. Temperature controlled -you tell it how hot it can get inside before it opens. Closes if it rains or gets too windy,

Not cheap -- but maybe a camper dealer would have some used. It's 12 volt. My husband is thinking about a solar charged 12 volt battery.

That's a great appliance, and well suited for a greenhouse. Do you know how much it costs new?

It costs over $250. My question is how do you wire the thing? I would certainly need a 120V-12V converter to start with. The rain-closure function would be of no use whatsoever, since I would mount the vents on the ends, not the top of the greenhouses.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.

My husband says use a small 12 Volt motorcycle battery (or lawn mower) and a solar charger. Wire it up -- that's what he says. Of course, I'll need to get it for a LOT less than the $250 price we see on line. Am going to check with my local RV dealer and see if they ever have any used ones.
