Just monitoring through photos how my Big Aeonium has grown through the years. It got too goose necked. Have delayed chopping off that head, but finally got the guts last year:
Oct 2007 - as a new cutting given to me by a friend

Repotted as it got bigger and bigger through the years:

Chopped off last Nov 2014

That long goose neck chopped further, don't know if this will leaf out or not

Jan 2015 - finally seeing some improvement on existing rosette
Thumb of 2015-02-16/tarev/b13e4d

Feb 2015 - some rains two weekends ago and now the heat of the sun and dry weather, the rosette is moving more towards the sun. Interesting how it shows how it wants as much sun as it can get; watching the center rosette closely..I do not know if this is preparing to bolt..never seen it do it before.

if it's rooted you have a chance that it forms new rosettes after flowering

The main stem is rooted, this big head is not, or hopefully it is making now. Have never ever seen this one in all the years I have had it form any new rosettes. Fingers crossed! I hope it will..otherwise, , will document in photos the swan song as it goes...boo hoooo

It's possible that by cutting it from it's main root system, you have disturbed it from flowering and it doesn't know what to do. Hope it stays a rosette and and makes many more.

I was hoping it will try to grow little rosettes up and down the stem or even at the base, since it has never done any rosettes and no blooming before either. Anyhow, will just try to enjoy the show it will give..and trying to watch if there are those munching monsters around. Thankfully this big guy is being spared.

Thanks Plantsmylove..it is a bittersweet thing to watch..love that I will see it bloom for the first time, but I will lose the plant..hopefully it will try to make pups before it exits totally.

The main bloom cluster is branching into little clusters: I guess it wants more sun!

April photo update of my Big Aeonium. This week we are back to cool temps, our highs in the mid 70's and overnight at lows 50's

Bloom stalk looks like a christmas tree, a bit slanted as it tries to get more sun:

So I thought my Big Aeonium is approaching its last hurrah ... but it seems our temps slowly warming up to mid 80's is doing good for it. So will just continue to observe what it will do. So far it is doing what my other aeoniums are doing, slowly dropping all the lower, older leaves. The younger ones are getting greener.
