I am using wood chips to make raised beds, but never thought about actual logs in the garden. Here there is maple trees and you can't dig anywhere because of the roots. Not unless you have a backhoe and some guys with strong backs and pickaxes. My one raised bed will be sitting here waiting for me, I am moving back to Calif to care for my grandson, so if later I move back here my bed will be ready for me to plant in.

Sounds great Marti. A nice bed loaded with wood chips is a fantastic start.
