I have seen that if you remove the growing point from hippeastrums that they will usually start to produce offsets, and often that will be many offsets. I thought: what would happen if i apply that to a seedling(bulb diametre is 2 cm), so, i tried that about two months ago, and the first one is already healed and rooted again, and sending something up, but it looks like a scape. It has the tip that looks like it is made out of 2 pieces, and it gets broader the deeper it is. I will keep you updated. If it is a scape this might be a fast method to induce flowering.

Cleaned it up, and saw that the 'thing' looks like something in between a stalk and a leaf. At the base of the bulb it looks like something is developing. I also found a second thing that grows inside the little bulb. Some photo's below

Both bulbs have formed at least two offsets/new bulbs, and there were no scapes at all, but the first leafs were very thick. One of the bulbs probably has three offsets, and the other probably two

As you can see, both hippeastrum seedlings are now propagated to two, one grew two bulbs inside the mother, and the other one grew one bulb inside the mother and made an offset, so my experiment has succeeded Smiling
