We will be planting peas for a market garden. I need some sweet English peas. We want to;
Sell fresh
Eat fresh, boiled
Store frozen IQF
store dried

Prefer a variety I won't have to trellis. Zone 6b-7a middle Tennessee. 1800ft elevation.

I need to buy enough for 1600 square feet.

Laxton's Progress #9 is what I prefer. If you broadcast the seeds rather than sow in rows they plants will support themselves. They grow about 2 to 3 ft tall so grown this way no need to trellis. When you want to pick them just wade in and pick; you'll most likely get 3 pickings, depending on how soon the heat comes on.

Note: Laxton's Improved is NOT the same as Laxton's Progress #9 so beware you don't buy the wrong variety.

Hope this helps.
