Ever looking for new plants to kill
Frogs and Toads Seed Starter Celebrating Gardening: 2015
All of a sudden, last year, these weeds were popping up everywhere. I don't recall seeing them before. They are hard to remove, because of a hefty taproot. What are they?

Thanks for the suggestions. It's definitely not prunella, and I don't think it's dock either: I have some of those, but it's possible that it's a different species.

Nope, I try not to let my weeds go to flower. If it shows up again this year (as I expect it will), I'll try to take a more distinctive photo.
