(I think I saw this question posted somewhere else??) Yes, it is too large for a potted tree. The plant will focus on growing roots to fill the big pot instead of growing on top for flowers and fruit. I suggest moving into a 10-15 gallon pot for the next 5-10 years if that is where you want it to stay.
