Well, Feb. was pretty dry for us here in Calif. but I know many others have continuing cold & snow.
Spring will soon be here for everyone!

I do have some color, took these shots when I came home from work yesterday.

My roses never really stopped blooming this winter, but now they are covered with new leaves and buds so the spring super-flush will be soon. The pear trees are in full bloom meaning spring must be on the way - even though it is supposed to be back in the 30s tomorrow.

I love Solar Flair's pointy pink accented petals!

The forsythia bloomed this week, so I am pruning about six weeks earlier than usual. I think winter skipped us.

I don't have any roses in bloom, but the bulbs are pushing up. Oh, and I discovered the daffys I couldn't plant last fall because it was too wet in a cupboard and they are sprouting. So, they will get planted this week.

Smiles,
Lyn
I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.

Daffodils are up a few inches here as well! I have a few bags of them in the garage that I might get planted this next week. Finally, my knee pain is lessening to the point where I can walk the yard. I can honestly say the pain before surgery was much less than after. Crying I'm looking at partial knee replacement in the next year, but the hyaluronic shots are kicking in so that will hopefully keep me going through this gardening season. Thumbs up
In the next month, several rose orders, a willow order, and a huge tree order will all land here. The trees are the little ones from forestry, but there's 150 of them. In a few years, I'll have a wonderful hedge composed of wild plum and old garden roses! Won't that be nice!
The willows are cuttings that I will root. Someday, I would like to try weaving a willow fence. Vermont Willow Nursery has so many lovely varieties, and so many cool ideas for how to use them. Lovey dubby
Even though weeding is how I tore up my knee, I think I'm going to get a scuffle hoe out and get started on the early spring weeds in the flower beds. i have lots of seeds I want to put down, so I had better get out there!

No daffs nor any spring bulbs up as yet here. The ground is covered in layers and layers of snow. We started with the snow very end of January and it never melted. I am so looking forward to my spring bulb show. Always so welcome to see blooms after the winter.

Oh gosh, so pretty to have roses blooming. Roses here and everything else in the garden are covered in a thick blanket of snow.

Hope is in the air. Sunny today with a high of 49 means that snow is starting to melt. I can dream of green grass growing while I take my little dog on her exercise walks these past few days.

This is about the time of year that I normally start my big spring pruning of the roses but not this year. Still too much snow cover and lots of roses still very much buried in the snow. Even if they weren't I am not so dedicated as to be out there gardening in the snow! Pruning will just wait although I do want that snow gone as I want everything to green up.

It has been a stubborn winter here too. No Snow but colder than usual. My roses seem to like it as it is also wetter than recent years.

Went and took a few shots outside, hard for me to hold my camera with it's heavy lens as I was in a bad car accident Tues but the day was too nice not to try a few.

Thanks Rita, I am trying but I also need to move once in a while to keep the muscles loose and the lungs clear. Thumbs up I get too stiff if I sit too long.

Thanks Cindi! Garden work has to wait, I can only water right now, it's not hubby's thing, I'm just grateful he cooks for me and does an excellent job of that too, always gourmet!

I've used a few green varieties over the years, but this is the prettiest and the nicest shade of green. In a regular garden situation they would most likely be white with a green cast.

The wedding decor is all very woodsy and earthy, lots of ferns and mosses and all the flowers I used are shades of green. It all seemed perfect for this time of year, reminds me of the woods waking up in early spring. It didn't even occur to me until yesterday that St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner too.
