I planted from seed last year the Pow Wow and the Cheyenne Spirit, in total about 400, They all bloomed the first year. I have checked and all are coming back. I am new at this but have hundreds of seeds from both and will give away since I don't need them.

Hi Itre! I joined in November and received a warm welcome from many. There is so much to read and everyone is so helpful and friendly I hope you enjoy the site. I made a few mistakes but the corrections were helpful and very nice. I just planted some purple and White Swan cone flower seeds and can't wait to see them flower!

I have planted the mix of purple and white coneflower seeds twice, I only got purple both times and a few that looked like a cross of purple and white, no pure white ones at all.

I grew and transplanted coneflowers last year, both purple and Cheyenne Spirit. They grew well but few blooms for the first year. Hope they produce this year. I got a bunch of seeds left that I just going to broadcast in different areas and wish for the best. Roy

Barb, I think you would be fine putting them in the ground now... or at least I hope so, I have a number of different perennials that I started from seed this year, in pots, that I'm going to put in the ground in the garden and then transplant to where I want them more permanently in the spring. You're in a warmer area than I am, but I always cover mine with some "floating row cover" and/or mulch to help protect them through the cold weather.
