Ok...I know this will be a little slow to begin with...but I figured we need a place for everyone's new bloom photos. I finally have a descent bloom...even if it's a little stunted from being in a pot!

By July I will be desperately wanting to see your blooms...mine will finish in early May. I hope the photos help a little in the meantime while you have to wait!

I'm jealous. Like Lucy, it will be a long time before I see any blooms. Just today I was finally able to see some dirt through the snow that has covered my garden.

I guess we all have to try to accept both the good and the bad about where we live. Easier said than done. Sticking tongue out I am jealous of all the rain and snow that you guys have had. I know it's been waaaay too much this year for you guys, but we have had so little and everything started out dry to begin with...I'm really worried about where we will be water-wise by the time you guys are beginning to see your first blooms. Sad

Oh well...we all have to take what mother nature brings...and do our best to appreciate it. So I'm sorry you guys have to wait...and sorry that we didn't get rain, but I'm also happy to have blooms, and happy that you have all had lots of rain and moisture to nourish your flowers. Thumbs up Gotta look at the bright side! Big Grin

Gorgeous bloom and we would gladly send you this torrent of rain we are having today - all day and all night. Not sure how the winter will affect bloom time here.

Thanks Bonnie! Thank You! This is it's maiden bloom. It's an older cultivar (1989) but a re-bloomer that looked like it might be a nice one. I am very pleased with it so far! Big Grin

All is good Marilyn. We just will be posting a tad bit along from you, then Tom and Co. start posting a tad bit along, and so it goes with the re-blooms coming yet another tad tad tad bit along. Gives us obsessives a much longer time to enjoy the blooms we love! Hurray!

I have one bed that is mostly made up of late bloomers. I'm hoping that I can extend that bloom season some.

I have a neighbor with some early iris. I have to go see how they're coming along. Mine start a m8nth or so after theirs.

An extended bloom season seeing all of yours is going to be great!

For the past two years, and after really weird winters, my irises have not kept to their bloom schedules. Mediums have bloomed first and the ones that are usually very early bloomed along with the rest. This year my only bloom stalk is on a medium blooming variety. I don't know if it will be a good bloom or not. We have had constant drizzle for awhile but rain is supposed to slow down and stop this weekend. On Monday 75 degrees is predicted with sun...... in mid March!!! I hope I can get through the weeds to see what is going on in the iris beds.

Well I walked about in the garden a bit. It was misting and I managed to get wet. I have 20 different dwarfs that are starting a tiny bloom stalk! I am so glad to see the promise of blooms. smiles
