Hi OlDuffer and welcome to ATP! It would help to know where you hail from.
I grow a lot of passies! They do their best in full blazing hot sun. I grow mine in pots - never in the ground because they can get away from you very quickly since they are Zone 8 hardy.
The first picture is of the frame and containers I grow them on. The frame is made out of PVC and I use a hemp twine as a lattice. That makes it very easy to clean off the frame in Winter when they die back. The 2nd picture was taken in August. There are 6 different kinds of passies in 3 rectangular containers - two per container. You'll notice they are nice and full at the top and a bit sparse at the bottom.
I grow the following on the frame, Blue crown, Lady Margaret, P. trifaciata Tri-Color, P. aurantia, P. rubra and P. alata.
Your best bet is to find rooted cuttings as Passie seeds can be very challenging to get started.
