Found a package of bitter melon seeds from 2006 given to me by my neighbor. Placed them in damp paper towel and, lo and behold, germination! Transplanted them into pots.

Hi Ursula,
No, I didn't but they were kept in a cabinet in the kitchen. I've heard some seeds will last a long, long time so I guess this is one of them. Hopefully they will do well...

Hi Betsy!

How I wish we had not the draught punishing us for 6 years now, to be able to sow so many seeds I still have from old exchanges at the other site!

Happy Gardening Season for everybody in the Northern Hemisphere!

I know marigolds have the reputation of being childs play to grow, it is often used in school projects with kids. I seem to have the hardest time even with new marigold seeds. They do better for me left to their own resources in the garden, Love having the volunteers.

Same here, except I don't get volunteers until it's too late in the season to get blooms from the new plants. They must need hotter (and drier??) conditions than what I provide.
