My annual tradition to visit this flower and garden show in San Mateo. Such a nice day yesterday too!
As always I hate the parking fee..it seems to have risen once more, now at $12, thankfully since we arrived after lunch, our gate ticket has been reduced to $15 instead of $22.
Focus has been on vertical gardening, water-wise gardening and landscaping good for our ongoing drought conditions here in California. Even the marketplace, seems less plant vendors, or maybe we were just on the last day. But there were lots of other vendors, for gardening related stuff, decors, tools.
Water- wise gardening and landscaping:
Garden art and stone landscaping:
I like this fountain:
This one is courtesy of US Berkeley, called Uproot, vertical gardening, creating that enclosed nook of plants, entering a narrow pathway and being surrounded by these various plants, arranged staggered like in an auditorium seating: not sure though about the practicality of those wooden structures in the long run:
More stones and succulent gardening set-ups/succulent plant combinations:
Vegetable gardening in a barrel:
Other exhibits:
Decorating with lovely floral/fruit tablescapes and garden set-ups:
I love the miniature/ fairy gardens too:
Just a close-up of that miniature garden:
I really love these gourd sculptures from the artist Betty Finch:
The tree ent from previous years show is still there, but in a smaller setting:
I always like seeing the Bonsai exhibit:
Really tiny bonsai:
Ikebana exhibits:
And for the train hobbyist:
