Bok Tower Gardens -- I visited this wonderful place for the first time yesterday (it's in Lake Wales). It was a gorgeous day and perfect for a long walk-about, admiring the plants and listening to the carillon in the background. The tower houses a 60-bell carillon - one of the world's finest.
Here are some pictures of the gardens and tower.

The Brunfelsia grandiflora (Yesterday, today and tomorrow) was huge. I bought a small potted one from their little nursery. I haven't owned one in a long time and I hope I can get this one to live more than a few years.

Lovely YTT. I wish mine would put on a better show.

Jean, I have a YTT and if I keep it tightly pruned it blooms better for me.

Yes.......AM & PM sun & mid-afternoon semi-shade............it should be quite happy where it is. I am looking for yet another location to move it.....

Jean, where is the mid-afternoon shade coming from? If it is a tree, then the reason the little YTT isn't thriving is probably because of the tree roots. Those roots extend out well past the spread of the branches, and a lot are near the surface. Some plants just can't compete.

I plant shrubs and other vigorous plants under my oaks in large sunken pots, and let them get a bigger root system established before I lift the pot and put the shrub in the ground.

I moved the YTT this afternoon. Hoping it likes the new location. It is full of buds Just never grew.
Was overcast & just mid-70s so dug quite a few holes & set plants in. Back yard is starting to look a bit better. Now to design the split level Herb area & get that going.
