I'm about to cry. While watering my orchids today, I accidently bumped one of them, knocking it over. It fell on a new branch that had 5-6 new flower buds, breaking the branch off. The buds were just days away from blooming. This is the first orchid I have been able to "rebloom". I've been waiting anxiously for the last few months to see those pretty flowers again. My initial reaction was to grab some tape and try to tape it back together. Not my brightest moment but I was desperate (I realized how ridiculous that idea was before I actually attempted to tape it). Is there any way to salvage this? Or am I S-O-L? It is currently sitting in a cup of water.

Did you post the wrong image?
In any case, put the spike in a bud vase, in good light, and hope for the best. Depending on the type of orchid, and how close it was to bloom, it may still open, and many last a long time as cut flowers.

Carol, I think that is Amanda's avatar and not meant to be the image of her orchid or inflorescence. Shrug!

Welcome, Amanda. How about putting your location in your personal information so that it shows in the upper right-hand corner when you post.

It may be time to buy some more orchids........ Whistling Many Phal. (I assume that's what you have) are just now coming into bloom and are available. Hurray! They are also about the least expensive of the orchids out there.
