Lady Tulip (Tulipa clusiana)

I am no expert on tulips or classifications so please forgive me if this is a dumb question.
Why are apparently different plants all together here as 'the same' ?
Synonyms--Tulipa clusiana var. chrysantha, Tulipa clusiana f. cashmeriana, Tulipa clusiana f. stellata, Tulipa praecox and Tulipa linifolia f. chrysantha

It is (or was?) my understanding that the species tulip clusiana is white, or whitish anyway, with the red-pink stripe on the outer three tepals, and a purple base with purple anthers...
whereas the var. chrysanthas (and others) are yellow (or other variations--like white with a yellow base and yellow anthers)...
and praecox? crimeny, who knows? What I have seen as 'praecox' isn't even a clusiana type.

So are they all one and the same? (probably not)

or, are they classified that way for some reason that I am unaware of and we need to modify the DB entry to describe the white one that looks like it's been playing with the ink? Hilarious! I'll try to get a better picture

By and large the synonyms for T. clusiana are correct. Tulipa linifolia f. chrysantha is a synonym of Tulipa montana however. We've seen that flower color can vary wildly within a species. You might want to include the synonym names in captions however.
