My sweet 5 year old granddaughter has wanted a fairy garden for a long time. We finally had time over the spring break and worked on our project together. I just took an old pot and we glued on some shiny flat backed gems on the outside and added some fairy accessories, plants and voila we created some magic. We took her pot to her home and she had since added more fairies. I plan on placing some fairies in the backyard so she can find them over time.

I agree What a great project for you and your grand-daughter. I wanted to do something like this with my grandchildren but they live a long way away and don't come that often. I have started making some for my own pleasure. Great idea with the stones on the side of the pot. I just picked up some new plants so can't wait to get started making a couple. Thanks for sharing your fairy garden. I hope you share your future ones with us also.

I have five grandchildren and 4 live within 3 miles of me so I try to spend quality time with all of them, but my sweetie pie Emma is a grandma girl and wants to do everything with me. She added about four more fairies to her garden, so the garden is getting crowded. She is a big sister to a brother now and maybe that is why she wants to spend so much time with me. I also have a 7-year old grandson who lives in Santa Cruz (3 hours away) and he spends holidays and summers with us. He is my special boy. I am trying to share the love of gardening with all of them. They love getting dirty and get excited when they see how their plants and veggies are growing. They all have a special growing area in our garden.
