I have a new sedum I picked up today at a local nursery.
It is labeled as Crested Stonecrop Relexum Crested. Hurray!

One web site describes it as: "Bizarre fascinated clone from Siskiyou, strangely attractive, it needs to have normal shoots pruned out or it may revert. ZONE 5"

Bizarre and strangely attractive seems to really describe it. Can't wait to put it in some soil. It is not in the database as since I don't have much more than a name tag, I hesitate to enter it.

Wow, what a cool plant Marilyn.
S. reflexum is now goes by the name Petrosedum rupestre subsp. rupestre. So it could be any of the P. rupestre listed here:
http://garden.org/plants/searc...
It looks alot like 'Blue Spruce', or it could be the straight species Petrosedum rupestre subsp. rupestre.

It is common for this species or named cultivars of this species to make crests. They are such gems to have. Don't let it dry out, these plants can handle more water, just not soggy all the time.

Oh, and just look at all those beauties in the last photo. Lovey dubby

Yep just loads and loads of Sedum and a bit fewer Semps. They told me to check back in 2 weeks.

Shall I just put it in the species pictures?

I think that is what I would do, that is how they have it listed, as a S. reflexum, which is now Petrosedum rupestre subsp. rupestre.

So you can put Petrosedum rupestre subsp. rupestre cristatum when you enter it into the database. When some one clicks on the photo they will read that information for your photo.

I hope mine survives this crazy weather. It is still in car and I need to water it.

I did and it seems to be doing pretty well even though I am not a good sedum mommy.

Hurray! Hurray!
It is a happy sedum now. I think I could hear it slurping up the water. Big Grin
