I'm home. but Esperaza is still driving home in traffic. We only made it to two nurseries before crashing at 4PM. It was a lot of fun! And yes, @porkpal, we took DH's truck. 'But didn't really need it. Bought mostly small pots that fit in the back seat. Plus we were able to drop off what we bought between nurseries. Five hours of fun is all we could handle! I really thought we could do three nurseries in three hours. Maybe it was the heat... Whistling

Coincidently, My GF and I were heading to our favorite nursery. But we stopped for lunch first. 1 or 3 Margaritas later, we never made it to the nursery! Blinking Rolling on the floor laughing

I found some bat face cuphea that I have been wanting and a few other little goodies. I was also able to I.D. a cactus I have. Sandi loaded me up with all kinds of cuttings, so I must say I got the best deals at her garden center Big Grin Sandi needs to post pics of her ligularia she got. It is a beauty!

@Esperanza I actually got most of what I bought planted yesterday! I kept seeing things today in the backyard that we forgot to take cuttings of for you. You'll have to come back! And we still have to hit The Great Outdoors. I also "need" to go to Green Gate in Seguin soon. First though, I need to get pots moved in backyard so we can get someone out to dig out the great flood of mud from the wall nextdoor. Sighing!

Here's the Ligularia pic. Have to find just the right spot for it. I still want the Giant one, though.

@ShadyGreenThumb, I hope you hailed a Uber car to take you home after "lunch!"

The mud is deserting the rain runoff down the sidewalk to the green belt. Did you get hail? We have a lot of shredded plants!

Edited to re-correct: The mud is diverting, not deserting (thank you autocorrect, I don't need you to think for me).

Oh no! I am sorry to hear about the hail. We were lucky and only got soft rain. I think we have had a total of almost two inches from the last few days. I read that Houston took a pretty big hit. Hopefully Houston forum members are doing alright. One family had a tree come right through their home Blinking

We just got home from the lake. They had no hail and little rain. That was good news. Last hail storm up there blew out some windows. Just needed lawn mowed!

Brugs still have buds, but shredded leaves. I haven't walked about the yard today. I can wait until tomorrow. I did manage to scoop a lot of oak tassels. Hope this is the end of them.

This area north of Houston is Ok tonight. There is still tons of active lightening out there and it is really creepy cloudy outside. Many areas got hail. Not my nighborhood, at least when I went to look. It was really blowing hard. So hard I felt I had to lock the storm door just in case.

The other night though, it was flooding on the freeways in the SW part of town. The airport has been closed on and off all weekend. I was out of town thankfully. I rarely worry about weather when I am gone and not looking at it. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess? Everything here is looking green despite the storms. There is a lot of debris that I will have to clean maybe on Tuesday? But the yard is loving the moisture.

Ligularia?? Why didn't I know about this shade-loving plant?? And @Bubbles Sandy, your's is a real looker! I am a sucker for purples. I might have to make it out to the nursery before Margarita's this week! Thumbs up

@ShadyGreenThumb, it's actually chocolate maroon, or so the tag says! Thumbs up

Before the storm hit last night, we remembered to look for flashlights. In addition to a couple of
Ryobi flashlights, we gathered 12 mini flashlights that DH had picked up with free coupons at Harbor Freight! We were fairly proud of ourselves for being prepared when the electricity went off about 9 PM. After all, the lights were off for a full two minutes! Whistling

We had another gully washer early this morning. I'm going out to plant the things I picked up at Lowe's Hail Sale. Everything on and around the bench totalled $36. I believe the Spath on the right was $26. (without hail damage). We're expecting more rain and possible thunder later tonight. Just as long as we don't have more hail, please!

I am enjoying your plant shopping vicariously. Fun Fun! I also was lucky enough to do the cutting shopping at Bubbles many years ago. I still have some of those plants that I saved over winter. Thank You!

@Esperanza brought a dozen eggs to us when she came to plant hop. Free range chicken eggs that were different colors. They were wonderful! I didn't know I had a pic of the carton but I did remember our first surprise, double yolks! Yum!

Double yolks are always fun. Hopefully the grand babe got to see that! It is too bad we are so far away from each other.I could easily spare a few for your baking. My ladies are laying like crazy right now. I will be picking up some new mason jars next week to pickle some. I have read they last for at least six months before they start getting a little tough. I have not gotten to see though, because hubby pops them in his mouth like popcorn.
